Brief Biographical Sketch:

Isaac Adlerstein is an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins University with several thousand hours of non-profit experience. He has worked with several social sector organizations and has seen first-hand the issues that our communities and our country face.

Isaac credits spending a post-high school gap year preforming community service as the most meaningful time of his life.

During his year, Isaac worked full-time at ServiceCorps, the first corporate-sponsored national service program that empowers college graduates to defer their start dates at leading corporations for one year so that they can serve at nonprofits of their choice. He then began volunteering regularly at Long Island's largest soup kitchen, the Mary Brennan INN, and at Habitat for Humanity NYC in Queens.

H157: Character and Leadership in Splash Fall 2018 (Nov. 10, 2018)
Character is everything. Martin Luther King Jr. once said that "the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." Having the courage to lead can be a difficult thing to cultivate. However, each and every single one of us can be a leader by living by our values and empowering others to do the same. Drawing on examples of great leaders of the past, this class will explore what it means to be a leader of character, and will offer ways for each individual to realize that potential within themselves.

X126: How to Become a Great Leader in Splash Spring 2018 (Feb. 24, 2018)
Leadership is not something esoteric or elusive that only the very best of us can achieve. Rather, each and every single one of us can be a leader by living by our values and empowering others to do the same. Drawing on examples of great leaders of the past, this class will explore what it means to be a leader, and will offer ways for each individual to realize that potential within themselves.
